The Automotive world is constantly evolving, and the regeneration of particulate filter is becoming more and more a common subject in the workshops.
Nearly all diesel vehicles, not only the latest models, are equipped with particulate filters.
The filter stops PM10 fine powders through a filtering barrier which, over time and kilometers, is filled with particulate matter and must therefore be cleaned. This cleaning process is called REGENERATION. If the car is used mainly in the city, the automatic regeneration cannot be complete, and it is therefore necessary to contact a service center, where regeneration is carried out by bringing the engine temperature to a very high level, thus producing the combustion of PM10 particles.
It is essential that this process is carried out using adequate equipment, to prevent personnel poisoning and to prevent the car from being damaged as the gases at extreme temperatures generated by the combustion, if not properly extracted, escape from the muffler and can melt the bumper.
Proper extraction of the gases produced during the regeneration of FAP is not a standard activity. Such extraction procedures cannot be carried out with standard workshop extraction systems that are designed to withstand 200° C maximum temperature
