Unfortunately, in addition to all this, a workshop operating at full pace also produces a large quantity of harmful, toxic or hazardous substances to man or the environment in general.*** Clean air and the environment guaranteed by an **extraction system** is clearly a must for any workshop. Installing an efficient extraction system is now a must for a variety of reasons. But let's look at the main reasons behind installing these types of systems: - **Safety**: all work places that include exhaust gas inevitably expose workers to a series of very high risks. Many workshop exhaust and gas substances have high risk profiles: in addition to causing worker health problems - a significant aspect we will discuss later - they are often made up of flammable or explosive substances that must be promptly removed.   - **Health**: as mentioned, one of the most immediate risks, and easy to avoid with a reliable **extraction system**, is represented by human health damages: exhaust gases and fumes drastically increase cancer risks for exposed workers, whether directly or indirectly exposed to the substances found in the gases. Each harmful substances has its own specific chemical risk profile: from respiratory system or eye and mouth mucous damages to potential skin risks for corrosive substance up to nervous system damages in the event of some particular substances. An **extraction system** effectively minimises the risk in all these cases, guaranteeing worker well-being. ![](https://blog.worky-italy.com/hubfs/KIRO/Imported_Blog_Media/bocchette-aspirazione-gas-di-scarico_i1441-kwTgNja-w650-l1-n1-2-2.jpg)   - **Regulation**: European directive 89/391 (workers health and safety framework directive) and equivalent standards in effect throughout the world clearly set the need to prevent the risk of exposure to harmful gases and materials in the workplace. Additionally, there are more specific regulations in each country concerning workplace health and safety. An **extraction system**, perfect in eliminating potentially harmful gases at the source, is one of the steps necessary to meeting current regulations.   - **Cleanliness**: the solid component found in exhaust gases and welding fumes, given the high volatility, quickly deposits on workshop walls and workplaces, accumulating over time and creating a dirty and unhealthy work environment. Specific **extraction systems** help fight gases and fumes, from the one specific for exhaust gas to the workshop fume extractor, whether fixed or stand-alone, according to specific work needs.   - **Organisation**: an unhealthy workplace invaded by dust and fumes is productivity's number one enemy: in addition to making the production process more difficult by reducing worker performance, gas accumulation can damage tools and materials used at the workplace in the long-term in addition to being highly harmful to human health, as we previously discussed. Another reason to rely on a quality **extraction system**.   WORKY is a company specialised in the production of [**extraction systems**](https://www.worky-italy.com/en/exhaust-fume-extraction) to meet any workshop need. **Download our catalogue and contact us to discover our entire range!**   --- #### [Workshop exhaust fan: an ally against smoke and gasses Next Post](https://blog.worky-italy.com/en-us/automotive/workshop-exhaust-fan-an-ally-against-smoke-and-gasseshslangen-us?hsLang=en-us) [![CTA C1 - verticale gas di scarico - EN - gennaio 2025 v2](https://hubspot-no-cache-eu1-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/cta/default/26256811/interactive-102029206998.png)](https://cta-eu1.hubspot.com/web-interactives/public/v1/track/redirect?encryptedPayload=AVxigLLSN%2BOprhysqBVVPbif3ifDDbsENQTzk%2BlWUVWbiu6B3wrd7q0nj1hjR346kErnm7p2IBJXghKytBhuGIFgUDqe%2B55vE5EfZzvPNNKRP4Ws3V9BC8RDjgfisJ%2F2qtpPxUmH9Iw1OzUbiUU%2Bk5YAuMq9oHEbPggjfxL6GIa9sqp3wYYmi8YFHbr4DgZT75S39yVQBqkpiQsubgvXEIu4CMc6WDvgU1dASH4DtPKzFbep&webInteractiveContentId=102029206998&portalId=26256811) ##### Blog WORKY Automotive Subscribe to WORKY's Automotive blog and stay updated! ### Categories - [automotive (43)](https://blog.worky-italy.com/en-us/automotive/tag/automotive) - [exhaust gas extraction (42)](https://blog.worky-italy.com/en-us/automotive/tag/exhaust-gas-extraction) - [fume extraction systems (14)](https://blog.worky-italy.com/en-us/automotive/tag/fume-extraction-systems) - [car workshop (13)](https://blog.worky-italy.com/en-us/automotive/tag/car-workshop) - [exhaust fumes extraction systems (13)](https://blog.worky-italy.com/en-us/automotive/tag/exhaust-fumes-extraction-systems) ### Popular Posts 21 May, 2021 [Car workshop design: best practices for maximum efficiency](https://blog.worky-italy.com/en-us/automotive/the-best-way-to-design-a-car-workshop?hsLang=en-us) 26 Apr, 2024 [Experts’ tips on how to manage a car workshop](https://blog.worky-italy.com/en-us/automotive/experts-tips-on-how-to-manage-car-workshop?hsLang=en-us) 07 Apr, 2022 [Vehicle exhaust extraction systems: the benefits of modern systems](https://blog.worky-italy.com/en-us/automotive/exhaust-fume-extraction-benefitshslangen-us?hsLang=en-us) 25 Aug, 2025 [Exhaust Gas Extraction Hoses in 2025: Models and Key Recommendations](https://blog.worky-italy.com/en-us/automotive/exhaust-extraction-hose-models-and-tips?hsLang=en-us) --> [![worky](https://blog.worky-italy.com/hubfs/Images_DEA_Worky_November2024/Images/footer-Logo.svg "worky")](https://ronb33.sg-host.com/) We work alongside your business to make your work environment unique, functional and well-organised, perfectly suited to your needs.
