Welding operations generate various types of fumes, most of which are toxic and harmful to human health when left in contact with workers. Let's take a look at welding fume extraction solutions in today's article! ## Industrial fumes extraction systems: what's new Implementing an [industrial fumes extraction system](https://blog.worky-italy.com/en-gb/industry/industrial-extraction-systems-tips-making-right-choice?hsLang=en-gb) is essential nowadays, not only to make the working environment healthy and safe, but also to increase efficiency and productivity in the company. In manufacturing companies, welding activities can go on for a long time, resulting in the [production of fumes and dust](https://www.worky-italy.com/en/blog/customised-fume-extraction-systems-from-worky) that are very dangerous for technicians and operators working in close contact with the machines. The [latest generation of fume extraction systems](https://www.worky-italy.com/en/blog/fume-extraction-equipment-everything-you-need-to-work-safely) are practical and intuitive, designed precisely to make work faster, more precise and safer, giving the possibility to increase productivity and have a real ROI. In today's article we will give an overview of the two main versions: fixed or mobile WORKY's welding fumes extraction solutions. #### Fixed welding fumes extraction solutions Our [fixed welding fume extraction systems](https://www.worky-italy.com/en/extraction-of-welding-fumes/fixed-systems-for-extracting-exhaust-fumes) consist in the installation of articulated arms (available in many lengths) or hoods (that can be customized in dimensions) or welding benches (available in different dimensions), connected individually or in series to a fan – available in many models according to required power - that extracts the fumes from the working places. The welding fumes can be accurately filtered and reintroduced into the building, if local regulations permit, or ejected outwards. #### MovableIndustrial fumes extraction systems A movable welding fume extraction system is a trolley mounted unit with fan, filter, and articulated arm. Among the WORKY mobile units for welding fumes the best-selling one is SMOBIPLUS. This easy to move unit is a compact and functional solution for the extraction of welding fumes in light and infrequent applications. For heavier-duty applications, WORKY offers [SMOBIMAX](https://www.worky-italy.com/en/extraction-of-welding-fumes/mobile-units/smobimax-1b-smobimax-1b), a welding fume extractor which is movable, too and which is designed for a more intensive use. This welding fumes extractor is available in the version with two arms, too ([SMOBIMAX2B](https://www.worky-italy.com/en/extraction-of-welding-fumes/mobile-units/smobimax-2b-smobimax-2b)). ![Industrial fumes extraction systems](https://blog.worky-italy.com/hubfs/KIRO/Imported_Blog_Media/unnamed2_i11516-krNvOl9-w400-l2-2-2.jpg) ### Mobile welding fumes extractors and fixed welding fume extraction systems: why use them? The welding process, frequently employed in many fields not only of the industrial sector, produces a mixture of several chemical compounds of various natures, including minuscule particles suspended in the air. Inhaling these particles can be extremely harmful, with hazards including respiratory problems and increased risk of cancer. Good industrial fumes extraction systems intervene intercepting harmful gases and particles directly at the source, therefore improving the [quality and salubriousness of the work environment](https://blog.worky-italy.com/en-gb/industry/best-welding-fume-extractor-the-complete-guide?hsLang=en-gb). A healthy work environment results in much higher productivity.  With a view to optimising time and speeding up work, the layout of equipment and systems in the company is also an aspect that should not be underestimated. Designing the work area appropriately will allow operators to move around and effectively and without hindrance . --- In this article, we wanted to take a closer look at the best solutions available on the market for welding fumes extraction.
