Dust extraction systems: convenient extraction arms

Written by Lino Di Betta | June 20 2018

It may be necessary to install extraction arms in workshops where permanent dust extraction systems are installed. In fact, an arm can also reach work areas far from utilities: WORKY offers its range of arms for dust extraction systems.

Scrap dust is always freed during the vehicle panel sanding and smoothing processes. This dust, fine and annoying, can end up in workers' eyes, deposit on vehicle surfaces and jeopardise productivity and general workshop organisation.

For this reason, it is always best to install a dust extraction system: WORKY produces both permanent and mobile systems that extract dust directly from the orbital sander. Mobile systems are indicated in workshops where dust must be extracted from several work stations in different areas. Permanent systems are more suited for small workshops with few stations.

Extraction arm utility: versatility and resistance

Extraction arms we use to equip dust extraction systems are necessary extensions that allow the extraction force to even reach the furthest work stations.

DARM series extraction arms share some features:

  • Length variety. You can choose between 3-metre extraction arms, suited to move utilities from the wall to the work station, and 6-metre arms, to also reach the back of the car.
  • Aluminium frame. Not just extremely light weight and thus manageable, but the aluminium frame is also rust resistant and durable.
  • Fittings for different accessories. Each arm is equipped with an extraction fitting, connections for compressed air distribution and electrical sockets to power all the necessary tools.

The DARM series for your dust extraction systems

The WORKY range includes 4 different standalone and pivoting extraction arm models to be applied to permanent dust extraction systems.

  • DARM3: 3-metre arm that includes an electrical and pneumatic utility distribution system in its frame in addition to the extraction mouth. Extraction can be manually or automatically started.

  • DARM3SU: unlike the previous one, the power and extraction distribution unit is not integrated but found at the end of the arm, connected by a flexible hose.

  • DARM6L: similar to the first model but with doubled length (6 m). What's more, it has a halogen spot light on the end to directly light the work station.

  • DARM6SU: like its corresponding 3 m model, the control unit is at the end of the length, connected with a flexible hose. It also has a swivel gear, for more controlled and less sudden movements and comes in 3 versions: manual, automatic and automatic with extraction cut-off start.
